Frequently Asked Questions...
Can I install a new trailer coupler over the old one? How does this work?
In other words, do I have to saw off the old trailer hitch? Or can I drill holes and bolt a new coupler right over the old one?
Is the channel referring to the width of the trailer? Here's a confusing part; if I have a 2" channel on the trailer, and I buy a 2" coupler, won't it be too tight to go over it's same size trailer?
Answer:
For safety reasons you do not want to drill holes in the frame channel. Hard to figure what you are doing from description but I would recommend a professional installer do this to assure your safety as well as the safety of others.
