Frequently Asked Questions...
Can tartar be removed in one dental cleaning visit? and what are the benefits of cavitron remover?
I am frustrated that every time i go to the dentist and get a cleaning done there is still tartar on my lower incisors. They overlap and are crowded so I know the definitive treatment is to remove my wisdom teeth and get braces, but in the meantime they should be able to remove the tartar without damaging my enamel. It is truly aethetically unpleasing. I want to know if my dentist is doing right by me by not removing this tartar build up once and for all. I have switched dentist twice.
Answer:
They should be well trained enough to be able to remove ALL of your tartar. A cleaning with a Cavitron will probably help. If they still won't see eye to eye with you, go see a Periodontist. They do deep cleanings all day, every day. Good luck.
